The engagement party went very well. We both had tons of fun!! It was a pretty long day… We were both up at like 7am all nervous and ready to go. We got there at like 11, and people started arriving right away. omg we were both so beyond nervous! We never get any attention ever, so to have like 75 people come there just for us was beyond overwhelming. And then we have to go be outgoing and talk to all the people?!?! Seriously? Eek! We’re way too introverted for that.

Anyways, a shot of vodka for each of us at the Pickle Barrel bar while the guests were arriving cleared that up really quick. hee hee.

We made sure to say hi a thousand times to everyone, and went to everyone’s table and all that fun stuff. It’s really amazing and nice to see everyone all together like that!

It was really nice seeing my (Melissa’s) family after so many years! Everyone looks exactly how I remembered them looking. It was really sweet having them all together again.

We also had an awesome friends table, including Linda Wheeler (Our real estate agent) who’s the most amazing person on the planet. And in true Brian and Melissa fashion, whilst everyone was on their third round of the buffet, we went out to the foyer and signed some papers to put an offer in to buy a house. HAHA! Yes, we bought a house literally during our engagement party.

People started heading out soon after, and we took all the gifts back to our place and opened them all. We got so much amazing stuff, but it was even more amazing just seeing all of our friends and family there. We both wish we could get together like this more often!

We’re totally super excited for the wedding now… we can’t wait. But we’re all super scared, because we’re gonna be so bleh after the wedding. Even after the engagement party we were sad, kinda like ‘wow now we just have to wait for the wedding, then it’s all over.’

We want to thank everyone for coming!! You’re all amazing and we really appreciate everyone coming out and celebrating, and all the amazing gifts!! We also wanna thank all those who couldn’t make it, but gave us your congratulations and all that good stuff. And we especially want to thank Brian’s parents for helping put together this absolutley amazing party!!

We both can’t wait to see everyone again (and more!!) at the wedding in September!

Engagement party starts in 2 hours. Eek!! We’re both super nervous… I think it’s because we realize if we’re this nervous for some tiny party at Pickle Barrel, we’re gonna be a thousand million times more nervous for the wedding.

But we’re also super excited!! LOL we’ve both been awake forever, just sitting around waiting to get ready and go. We still have to clean up our place a bit because we’re having people back here afterwards to open gifts, if anyone wants to come. It’ll probably be the last time anyone gets to see Dia.

We’re also pretty excited because we’re gonna sign an offer on a house today… at the party. lol. Our real estate agent Linda is gonna be there, she’s amazing. She’s definitely one of our favourite people. She’s probably sick of us by now though. hehehe.

The engagement party is almost here! OMG we’re both so excited. It still sucks that a lot of people can’t make it… we wish we had it the week after. We totally didn’t realize it was March break.

I know from my list of like 50 people, 7 are coming or something like that. But like 30 of them are in Florida. lol. It’s so insane.. .we shoulda had the party in Florida.

We’re so nervous!!! It’s totally coming up soon! eek!

It has been mostly Melissa posting lately, so it seems time for me to write something! It seems for the last month or so the focus has been on her, picking out her wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses.

So there are a few things I can update with! I’m pretty settled on the tuxes I’m picking out for my groomsmen. They are going to be extremely simple, but I think they are going to look amazing. In fact, Melissa helped pick them out! I find a lot of the times, I help her pick out clothes, and she helps me. Which makes sense, because she always has her eye out for hot guys, and I always have my eye out for hot girls, and so we know what looks good on the opposite sex. I’m pretty sure that’s one of the reasons it took her so long to pick out a wedding dress, because I wasn’t allowed to help pick it out with her. Luckily for me it was okay for her to be there to pick out tuxes

We also signed a contract for a photographer last night. She is really good, and she did my friend Jack’s wedding. You can see her work here: http://www.elementzoffoto.com/ I don’t think she is the cheapest we could have found, but our photographs is the one area of our wedding where we wanted to be extremely picky, and we’ve spent months looking around at different people’s work, trying to pick out what suits us best, and in the end, we went back with our first choice. So I’m really glad for that.

The big things we still have left are to pick out a band/DJ, invitations, videographer, cake, and finalize our floral details. We’ve already met with the florist, and we’re going crazy at how much we think it’s going to cost us. So until we get her price quote, which should be at the end of this week, we’re kind of in limbo about what they will look like, because we aren’t willing to spend a lot on flowers. It just isn’t practical.
