Brian and Melissa

I’m soooooooooo excited for my Bridal shower coming up!! I can’t wait to see everyone and all that. I love parties! Best thing ever. I should get married every year.

We sent out our invitations last week. Like I said before, it took us freaking forever to get these printed. Now that you’ve gotten them you can maybe see why. It’s white on black. No one would print white on black, or like negative space black. So it was really hard to find someone. But we’re really glad we tried and tried and tried and found Astley Gilbert who printed them. It took us no time to design them, but it did take a while to refine refine refine and fit everything in, and make it all printable and everything.

We’re already getting back RSVPS!! SO EXCITING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We love opening up the RSVP cards, we love the way they look. I wanna do invitations all the time now. I love that the people who really really know us the first thing they’re all saying is “We love your invitations, they’re so Brian and Melissa”. I love that there is a “Brian and Melissa” style. And I love that our friends know what it is. It’s pretty awesome. I guess painting your bedroom black really sticks in people’s minds. haha.

Well, I think we’re done everything mostly. Band is chosen, food tasting is next week, dress fitting was today but I missed it, so I have to reschedule. Got my shoes, got my makeup lady, almost have a hair stylist. Everything is done. Now we wait.

We’re so glad we went to Vegas, it’s totally what we needed to get away from everything. We’ll post pictures soon!

So that surprise we were talking about back in April… remember? It’s happened, and it’s here. It’ll be revealed next week! eeeee!

So we have like a month and two weeks till the big wedding day. It’s crazy. We can’t believe it’s almost all over.  This entry sucked, i’m tired.

We printed our wedding invitations yesterday. Now we are stuck with the monotonous task of hand writing everyone’s address, and then writing our own on the RSVP card 125 times. FUN! We should have done it last night, but didn’t get the chance.

These have to be mailed out today, because tomorrow we are going to Vegas!! (NO WE ARE NOT ELOPING IN VEGAS!! I SWEAR TO GOD.) So we’ll be in Vegas for four days, and I’ll work on my wedding tan. This for us is Vegas 7. That’s right, seventh time there. It’s crazy, we love it. We’re not gamblers or anything, we just love the weather, and the 24 hour scene. I think it was two Vegas’ ago that we stayed up till 5am every night and then slept till 12 and then went to the pool all day and stayed up till 5 again. Frig, we stayed up so late that we actually saw Vegas close (meaning the cleaners were out and people weren’t really around anymore).

We have come to the decision that we can’t afford a honeymoon right now (well we could have, but we decided to have our backyard landscaped instead with patio stones. :P), but more so we don’t really want one. I mean we do, but we don’t know where to go… so why take a forced vacation? So Vegas 7 is gonna kinda be a mini honeymoon, and then as we always do we’ll go on a cruise in December which can also be a mini honeymoon… therefore two mini honeymoons equal one whole one.

I’m so excited that in 24 hours i’ll be on the Mandalay Beach drinking something fruity and delicious. AHhhhhh I CAN’T WAIT! Although, I can wait to fly. I hate flying. Bleh. I don’t wanna talk about it.

So yeah we have to get those invites done tonight. haha check this out…. so tonight, I have to go buy a new bikini, then find my Vegas clothes somewhere still packed up from the move, then organize everything, then pack, then do the invites. I DOUBT THERE IS TIME. I’m super nervous.

I hate going away right now because there is so much left unfinished. We have un-found a band. The band we wanted was being sketch, so we realy really need to find one! I also need to find a hair stylist. Like literally no one is calling me back. I also need to organize a ton of stuff for my wedding coordinator, but i’ve been so busy at work and at home that i’ve had no time.

I guess that’s it! LESS THAN TWO MONTHS TO THE WEDDING. WHAT THE EFF!

Earlier today I had a conversation with a friend of mine who studies a lot of Torah, Talmud, and is overall very well knowledgable about Judaism.

He asked me when the wedding was. Supposedly September 14 translates into the Jewish date of “ELUL 14.” He told me that that is actually a really good month to get married for a few reasons:

1) Elul looks like this in Hebrew:

As often is the case in Hebrew, if you take the letters that it spells (from right to left) and make an acronym, it can also spell “Ani Le’dodi Ve’dodi Li.” That is pretty much the standard phrase in a Jewish wedding, which means “I am to my beloved as my beloved is to me.” Pretty cool!

2) Supposedly getting married in the beginning half of the month is good luck.

3) There are 2 times in life where God is extra forgiving, and one of those 2 is under the Chuppah (at the marriage ceremony), and this is pretty cool since our marriage ceremony falls almost exactly 1 month before Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement).

This being said, I can’t believe it is 2 months away!!

So on Saturday my bridesmaids (Jodi, Katie, and Samantha) took me to High Tea at Epic in the Royal York Hotel. It was so much fun!

The food was insanely good. First we had this really yummy berry thing with whipped cream, then little tiny sandwhiches, and then a ton of little dessert cakes on a three tiered tower thing. And of course tea.

It was awesome! I seriously love my bridesmaids, they’re really super nice. Thanks so much guys!!!!!!

In a couple weeks I have my stagette, and then my bridal shower. I don’t know how this happened… how I turned into that girl I hated… the girl who has all the parties. You know the one. the one where you’re like ‘ugh another one???.” It sucks, I know. I didn’t hate going to tons of parties, but sometimes girls have like a million. I know people who get married and the bride has like four bridal showers, a bunch of stagettes, jack and jills, etc… it’s insane. So I’m hoping no one is all like ‘ugh so many parties” about me. Cuz it’s toooooootally not my fault!
