“Soh… 5 years isn’t enough you should have an internet page?”
13 days
Author: Melissa
blech 13 days! It’s pretty insane. Actually, last night for the first time I wasn’t even nervous I was actually excited. I was like OMG i’m gonna be married in 13 days! pretty awesome. But still whenever anyone mentions it, i almost throw up… so that’s intense. haha. i’m a loser.
Anyways…I had my final fitting two days ago, and I also got to buy a veil. they asked me if I wanted to come back next week to pick up the dress or if I wanted another fitting. I chose another fitting. for two reasons. 1. I want new shoes, my shoes are retarded and I can’t wear them. 2. I dont wanna bring the dress home yet.
HOWEVER I did bring the veil home Friday night. It’s been so hard not to show Brian!! Like, I can’t not. So I caved yesterday, walked in the door and said “OMG wanna see my veil” i’m so stupid. He’s like yeah! so I showed him and then freaked out and was like “OMG I”M SORRY FOR BEING SUCH A GIRL” Cuz i was totally being a girly girl. Anyhoo, I didn’t put it on… I wanted to, so I could show him. One of us did put it on though…
What else… ummm oh yeah. We finally booked the Hyatt. thats where we wanted to stay originally, but it was super expensive. And then all the other hotels we found were crappy, or too expensive too. So we didn’t know what to do. Then we called the Hyatt and got a cool deal, so now we’re staying there for two nights. Then we go to L.A.! Then to Cabo! it’s gonna be insane. We’re both so looking forward to having a vacation and just relaxing.
OH I forgot… so I had a hair trial with a stylist that a coworker recommended. She was really nice, but said she didn’t want to do my hair the way I wanted it for a few reasons. She also recommended I not wear a veil, and instead wear flowers. She made it sound really nice.
Then I get out of the hair place, tell Brian what she said and he’s all “uhh, but thats not what you wanted” and i’m like all yeah but what i wanted wont work. then I told my wedding coordinator and she got all like “thats not what you wanted! Get waht you want!” and im like IT WONT WORK! and she’s like it doesnt matter, get what you want, it’s your day. And then I was thinking about it more and more, and who the hell is this stylist to tell me not to wear a veil and stuff? So annoying!
I really wanted to wear a veil! (LOL which is funny because I was so anti veil when this first started 7 months ago, but I turned into this princessy crappy girl and now can’t get enough of it).
Anyway, so now i need a new hair stylist, but there aren’t any! I can’t find anyone in 13 days! I’m freaking out. I’m doing that thing when a bride frreaks out! And I haven’t done that once yet this whole 7 months, cuz I don’t really care. BUt this time I care because now I have no one to do my hair. I emailed my coordinator and she’s really amazing she’s like “k don’t panic! We’ll find someone” But so far, I haven’t. and everyone is closed today.
Alright, I gotta go find shoes again!

Oh, I forgot to write a post about buying the dress.
Not much to say other than I bought it. It sucks that I don’t get to wear it again until July when it’s ready. It’s so totally the 100% opposite of what I wanted. Like literally, I can list out everything I didn’t want in a dress, style, strapless, puffy, etc.. and if you take the opposite of what I didn’t want, you have my dress.
But it looks soooooooooo amazing, so forget what I wanted. lol. I love it so much! I knew it was the dress when I tried it on the second time last Sunday. I tried it on Saturday and loved it, then went back Sunday and tried it on again and really seriously loved it.
I can’t wait to see it again. I keep looking at pictures of it. I also can’t believe that I spent so much money on something that’s gonna just go in a box.
Dress Dream
Author: Brian
Wow, I had the weirdest dream last night. It was our wedding day and I didn’t have a dress yet or anything. We were at the mall, then Brian went away. And I was just shopping at the mall, then i realized I had to be back for the wedding. So I ran back to where I needed to be and everyone was waiting and saw me come in and they were all “oooh” cuz i was late.
Then I wanted to borrow nail polish from an aunt of mine, so I did. And then I remembered I didn’t have shoes, so I tried to convince Brian to let me walk down the isle barefoot. which actually sounds kinda awesome. THEN I realized I didn’t have a dress, but my Bridesmaids bought one for me because apparently I didn’t care what it looked like.
So I put on the dress they got me and it was really nice. And then everyone was lining up to go down the isle and I ran down there too. So we did the ceremony and then all of the sudden I was renting a dvd at this weird video store, which might have have been the Radio store that Brian went to last week.
That’s all I can remember. So weird.
Anyhoo, I have to go look at dresses today. I dunno where to go… I wanna go to the Danforth, and there are some nice places on Spadina. Also someone at work told me of a cool place on Lakeshore that’s having a huge sale this weekend. My only problem is I don’t really wanna drive all the way to Spadina, Danforth, or Lakeshore. There was also a place in Leslieville I was gonna go to, but I forgot the name and address at work. And of course there is the elusive Windsor Bridal.
See, the thing about me is I hate trying on clothes. I usually just buy clothes and they fit and I don’t need to try them on. So it’s gonna suck having to spend an hour trying on all these big heavy dresses today. Plus I just found out a few places say you should make appointments, which I have not. Ugh it’s just gonna be tons of girls all giggly and happy to buy dresses, and loud and annoying… like the first bridal show I didn’t go to.
I should have done what Amanda did. She bought her dress online… how genius is that! I mean, it may not look good on me though if I do that. But I dunno… I could also get one made like Brian suggested, but I need pics and the name of the person who makes dresses.
Plus how much is this gonna cost me today? I put most of my money in the Wedding Savings Account we opened last week, so I’m pretty much broke. It’s gonna be a tough 9 months…but i’m sure it’s gonna be tons of fun. We love this planning stuff!!
HAHAH As I was writing this, I had to go look for all those wedding dress links, and all the dresses are so pretty!! I’m so in the spirit now! That’s all it takes! Wow what a turnaround, I probably shouldn’t even post this as it’s wrong. I can’t wait to go find one! Maybe that’s another thing… maybe i’m procrastinating it all because I know it’s gonna be this awesome thing I get to do only once in my life. hehhe.
Dress Monster
Author: Brian
Well, on the weekend at the Wedding Show there was an area where they were selling dresses. All on racks, hundreds of them. I didn’t wanna go in, the dress thing freaks me out. Anyways, on the way out Brian was like let’s just go, you gotta get one anyways. So we went in, I felt gross. It was a huge maze of big white and beige dresses, and girls naked just trying them on. Ugh. They were everywhere!! And they were huge! What kind of giants wear these? Do only giant women get married? I’m too tiny for it all.

Dress
Author: Brian
Ah, so “THE” dress… the one i wanted, although I never got to see it in real life, but in pictures it was perfect… I found out how much it is. So insane… I assumed since I found it at a random crappy store that it wouldn’t be too bad…

$1045.00, sans alterations… really? Seriously? A thousand bucks for a dress i’m only gonna wear once. I dunno if I can justify that. It’s funny how girls buy these expenses dresses, knowing full well they’ll only wear them once… but boys rent their tuxes, knowing that they can probably wear them again if they bought them.
Anyways, I think i’m going to go look for a dress on Saturday. I have six people who wanna come with me, but I think it’ll just be me and my mom, maybe Brian too (I don’t believe in that bad luck stuff). Then if the vibe I get from these stores is ok, the next time I go look for dresses, i’ll bring some more people that wanna come. I’d love to have my mom and brian’s mom, maybe a friend of mine or bridesmaids.. I dunno, we’ll see. I just gotta scope out the scene first.
I doubt i’ll find one this weekend anyways, i’m too picky. All I know is I want something super super simple, no frilly nonsense, or puffyness… although I do moderately like that ruffled style at the bottom.

Although, some of those end up looking like you’re wearing a duvet.
I also don’t want a strapless dress, most wedding dresses are strapless though. Which is weird, I wonder why? I mean, i’m not so 100% against strapless, but i’d prefer not.
It’s funny how i’m all about talking about dresses, meanwhile Brian wrote that huge thing about calling it off. ![]()
